Sun, Sand, Surf and Songs

By Byrne Harrison

Frequent visitors to Provincetown know to head to the Crown & Anchor's Central House Cabaret to hear Bobby Weatherbee whenever they need a healthy dose of Broadway music. Weatherbee performs every Thursday-Sunday from 9 PM to closing. If you haven't seen him perform, you have to go at least once. You'll have a great time singing along to your Broadway favorites.

For those of you who don't want to stay up quite so late, or have other uses for your nighttime hours, I recently discovered the Afternoon Music Escape at The Waterford Tavern (part of the Waterford Inn). Every Wednesday-Saturday from 4-6 PM, pianist John Thomas performs at Captain Lavender's Deck.

On Friday and Saturday, Thomas is joined by Adam Berry and Ben Griessmeyer. Charming and charismatic, Berry and Griessmeyer delight with their golden voices, humor and marvelous arrangements. Best of all, you can see Berry and Griessmeyer after their cabaret performing in the Provincetown Theater's production of Moises Kaufman's Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde.

I highly recommend attending one of Berry and Griessmeyer's performances.
