David Tennant and Patrick Stewart's Hamlet Now Available Online
By Byrne Harrison
For those of you who missed last night's broadcast of Hamlet, it is now available online (or watch it below). It was a remarkable and beautifully filmed production.
I only watched the first twenty minutes of it, and I was struck by just how cheesy it looked -- I couldn't help but think of it as "The Doctor Does Shakespeare," which I believe was actually an episode in the 2005 version's third season.
I have it DVR'd, so I'll probably go back and watch the rest of it -- the actors were, at least, making choices that I don't often see.
Truth be told, I didn't catch the beginning. I was really surprised by some of the choices as well, Gertrude especially. I wasn't thrilled with the CCTV bits; I'd be curious what you think about that.
