The NY Times and Variety have nice tributes to Bea Arthur, who passed away yesterday at 86. Despite being remembered by modern audiences for her television work, especially her roles as Maude Findlay on "Maude" and Dorothy Zbornak on "The Golden Girls," Bea had an extensive theatrical career and received a Tony award for her performance as Vera Charles in Mame.
